It hardly ever snows in this coastal community, but it did this past weekend as ocean winds met cold air arriving from the north.
But the dry earth didn’t reject the snow.
And neither should we reject God’s word from heaven.
Consider the writing of the prophet Isaiah:
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not there, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void . . . (Isaiah 55: 10-11).
The snow nourishes the ground and causes plants to flourish with the sunshine, and we can encourage one another with God’s word to produce good works.
Consider picking up a Bible and reading it when you have time to see how God would handle a matter. It may be that God has a better way.
Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live (Deuteronomy 8: 3).
