There’s a river beside the town of Calabash that winds its way from the Atlantic Ocean past the docks and dissipates into the marshes behind the Sunset Beach area.
It’s full of life with herons, egrets, pelicans, and cormorants all sitting along its side waiting for food that comes in with the tide.
But if you go fishing in a boat on the river, it can be difficult to navigate the river at low tide with protruding sandbars, a low bottom, and a narrow channel.
But there are markers at the turns to help mariners find the way.
The same is true with God: the Bible and the Word of Life to help guide us through low moments.
The Bible says, The Lord is near unto those of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit (Psalms 34: 18). Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalms 119: 105).
So when there’s a low tide in your life, consider the word of God to get you through it.
Humble yourself and say a little prayer, for it is the beginning to find the right way.
The mariner looks for the channel marker and uses his experience to ride the deep water at low tide, and you will have the confidence and faith to overcome adversity with the power of God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your beauty in nature but there is nothing like your river proceeding out of the Lamb and your throne, a clean pure river of life which has trees of fruits on every side for the healing of the nations. Amen
